Drink pure, filtered water on a regular basis. The human brain contains a a high concentration of water. Becoming dehydrated will make you feel tired and inhibit your ability to remember. You may have trouble remembering things and difficulty retaining new information. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily. Refrain from cram sessions when dealing with information. If committing something to memory is essential, take the time to establish planned sessions in which to study. Do not try to educate yourself on a subject all at once. It can be overwhelming, and you will not be able to remember a lot of what you have learned. You need to schedule study sessions on a regular basis to help your brain get in the habit of consistently remembering.
Physical exercise helps enhance brain activity and memory functions. Your body will feel the physical benefits while your brain will have both it’s short and long-term memory enhanced. This is due to the additional blood flow and oxygen to your brain caused by exercise. To remember something, say it aloud. As soon as you learn something like a name, repeat it out loud. When you repeat new information loud enough for your brain to get the information again, it will help to cement it in your brain for retrieval at a later time. Whether you are by yourself or with others, do not feel embarrassed, and say it a few times.
